Mumbai : Vashi Integrated Solutions Ltd., one of India’s leading B2B procurement and sourcing partners in the Fast-Moving Institutional Goods (FMIG) sector, is expanding its on-ground distribution presence through Vashi Mart, a counter-format distribution network designed to bring solar equipment and installation essentials closer to installers across India. With plans to establish 22 Marts across 10 states in the first phase by FY 2026-27, the initiative aims to address last-mile procurement challenges in India’s rooftop solar sector by bringing products, inventory and technical support closer to installers, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. The company is building one of India’s most structured, multi-city solar fulfilment networks, designed specifically around installer demand.
India’s rooftop solar market is expanding, supported by initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. For installers, however, fragmented procurement and inconsistent product availability remain key challenges, affecting the efficiency of project execution. Vashi Mart aims to address this last-mile gap by bringing solar products and installation essentials closer to installers.
Vashi Mart is designed to simplify the process by bringing a wider range of solar products and installation essentials under one roof. This will help installers access more of the materials they need closer to their project sites, reducing the need to source components from multiple suppliers.
The first phase of the expansion will extend the company’s presence across 10 states: Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Uttarakhand and Odisha, with locations selected to serve installer demand and support the growing rooftop solar market. The expansion is strategized by an assessment of rooftop solar potential across markets, including district-level data linked to the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. As the government considers the next phase of support for rooftop solar adoption, Vashi Integrated Solutions aims to meet growing installer demand and improve local access to solar products across markets through its planned network.
Each Mart will be supported by Vashi’s wider distribution and warehousing network. While installers can purchase available products over the counter, larger orders and project requirements can be fulfilled through the company’s distribution infrastructure. Through DigiServe, Vashi’s digital procurement platform, installers will be able to check stock availability across locations, place orders for products not available at the counter, track deliveries and access product catalogues and technical information. Product guidance, hands-on training and technical assistance will also help installers navigate different solar products and technologies.
The network will primarily serve the residential rooftop solar market, while also catering to installers working on small commercial and industrial rooftop projects. Larger commercial and industrial requirements will be supported through Vashi’s fulfilment centres, extending the model to a broader range of solar installation needs.
Speaking on the launch, Suraj Dodeja, Managing Director & Group CEO, Vashi Integrated Solutions Ltd., said, “India’s transition towards greater solar adoption requires not only strong policy support and growing consumer participation, but also an efficient distribution ecosystem that enables installers to execute projects with greater ease. Through Vashi Mart, we aim to strengthen this ecosystem by bringing solar products, installation essentials and technical support closer to installers across markets. By combining local inventory with digital ordering and technical support, we aim to simplify procurement and support installers as rooftop solar adoption expands across more markets.”
Founded in 1978, Vashi brings decades of experience in industrial supply and distribution to the expansion. The company has a network of more than 22 hubs across over 100 cities and partnerships with over 65 international brands. Its dedicated solar business has been serving installers and EPCs for a decade, providing a foundation for the planned multi-city network.
