The Assam Government has decided to give 10 percent quota in Government jobs and educational institutes to economically weaker sections in general category.
The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held last night under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal in Guwahati. The cabinet also approved guidelines for disbursement of 5000 rupees each to 5 lakh farmers of the state under the Mukhya Mantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojna for purchasing of tools and equipments. The cabinet decided to release 95 crore rupees to the Water Resource department to repair river embankments.
