BorderPlus Launches B.R.I.D.G.E : India’s First National Standardised Exam for Nurses Seeking International Careers

BorderPlus, India’s leading, global talent mobility platform, today announced the launch of B.R.I.D.G.E (BorderPlus International Deployment and Global Mobility Exam), the country’s first standardised national examination designed to assess and prepare Indian nurses for international placement, with a primary focus on career opportunities abroad

“India has an extraordinary pool of nursing talent, and the world is waiting. At BorderPlus we are building a credible, nationally standardised gateway that global healthcare systems can trust. The exam structure is developed in three sections deliberately, to assess competency, international readiness and resilience to leave everything familiar behind and build a life in a new country. A skilled nurse in a tier-3 city deserves the same shot as one in a metro, and if the merit is there, finances should never be what holds them back.” said Mayank Kumar, CEO & Co.Founder BorderPlus

B.R.I.D.G.E introduces a merit-based scholarship model with a total pool worth INR 1 Crore+, designed to directly reduce the cost of training the nurses are required to undergo to upskill themselves for an international career. The exam is structured across three sections: Basic Clinical Skills, which tests foundational nursing knowledge including patient safety, vitals, and medication management; International Career Readiness, which assesses cross-cultural communication, language proficiency, and global healthcare awareness; and a Psychometric Assessment that evaluates resilience, adaptability, and decision-making.

The 80-minute examination will be held on 19 July 2026 at BorderPlus Finishing School centres in Pune, Kochi, and Noida, with registrations closing on 30 June 2026. The results will be announced on 10 August 2026. The exam is open to B.Sc. Nursing and GNM diploma holders, fresh graduates and experienced nurses alike preferably below 35 years of age. The 2026 cohort is limited to 300 seats, with candidates ranked beyond that placed on a waitlist.

“Germany has an urgent, growing need for skilled nurses and India has the talent to meet it. What’s been missing is a structured, trustworthy bridge between the two. B.R.I.D.G.E gives nurses a fair, standardised way to demonstrate their readiness, and gives us the ability to identify and invest in the right candidates at scale. We want this opportunity to reach every eligible nurse in the country.” said Ashish Labroo, Business Head, BorderPlus

The B.R.I.D.G.E exam democratises access to international nursing careers by providing nurses across India a single, unified platform to evaluate their global readiness. Candidates who clear the exam become eligible to join the BorderPlus Finishing School, an 8–9-month intensive training programme that prepares nurses for placements at leading hospitals abroad. In just one year since the Finishing School launched, over 1,000 nurses have already been successfully placed, a testament to both the scale of demand and the programme’s strength.
