Hyderabad : Recognising the critical role of timely intervention in saving lives during sudden cardiac arrest, CARE Hospitals, Hitech City – an Unit under Aster DM Quality Care Ltd, conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training programme for employees of the Insurance Information Bureau of India (IIBI) at its Gachibowli office on Monday, emphasising the importance of emergency preparedness in workplaces.
Around 100 employees participated in the programme, which included hands-on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) demonstrations and practical guidance on recognising cardiac emergencies. Employees individually practised CPR techniques on training mannequins under the supervision of the CARE Hospitals training team, gaining practical experience in responding to life-threatening situations.
The initiative assumes particular significance in the wake of a recent unfortunate cardiac emergency at a workplace, reinforcing the need for employees to be equipped with basic lifesaving skills. Medical experts highlighted that early recognition of cardiac arrest, prompt activation of emergency medical services and immediate initiation of CPR can significantly improve the chances of survival.
Venkat Changavalli, Chief Executive Officer, IIBI; Dr. (Major) Mukund Kulkarni, Chief Business Officer – Life and Health; and Presenjit Ray, Head – Insurance & TPA, Aster DM Quality Care Ltd, attended the programme and presented BLS training certificates to employees who completed the training.
The programme reflects the shared commitment of IIBI and CARE Hospitals towards creating safer and more responsive workplaces. It also reinforces the importance of extending lifesaving awareness beyond hospital settings, encouraging organisations to make basic emergency response training an integral part of their workplace safety initiatives.
