A seven member inter ministerial Central team led by joint secretary of Union Home Department Ramesh Kumar has reached Patna on a three-day tour to state to assess damage caused by recent devastating floods in Bihar. The team held discussions with officers of different departments including Chief Secretary.
The team will go today to worst affected districts of Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and Madhubani. The team will go in ten other districts to assess damage. The Bihar government has sought assistance of 2,700 crore rupees from centre. Over 88 lakh people spread over 13 districts were hit by floods this year and 160 people were killed.
