Delhi to witness Meghalaya’s sweetest celebration as Meghalaya Pineapple Festival returns from July 10-12

Mumbai / Shillong : Delhi is set to experience the unmatched sweetness of Meghalaya’s world-renowned pineapples as the Government of Meghalaya brings back the fourth edition of the Meghalaya Pineapple Festival from July 10 to 12, 2026, at Dilli Haat, New Delhi. More than a celebration of one of India’s finest fruits, the festival is a tribute to the thousands of pineapple farmers whose hard work, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit have helped Meghalaya emerge as one of the country’s leading producers of premium-quality pineapples.

Meghalaya Pineapple Festival at a Glance:

•            10–12 July 2026 | Dilli Haat, New Delhi | 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

•            Experience Meghalaya’s world-renowned pineapples and a range of pineapple-based value-added products.

•            Meet pineapple farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and entrepreneurs from across Meghalaya.

•            Enjoy live performances by artists from the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Programme (MGMP).

Organised by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, the festival has evolved into the State’s flagship platform for connecting farmers directly with consumers, retailers, institutional buyers, food businesses and export markets. At its heart lies the Government’s commitment to building an integrated agricultural value chain, strengthening every stage from production and aggregation to value addition, branding, logistics, retail partnerships and exports, ensuring that greater value reaches the hands of the farmers who cultivate the fruit.

The festival reflects the Government of Meghalaya’s larger vision of transforming agriculture into a sustainable engine of economic growth under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Conrad K. Sangma. Through Vision@2032, the State is investing in stronger agricultural ecosystems that create better market opportunities, promote value addition and improve farm incomes. Complementing this vision is the Meghalaya State Organic Mission, a ₹295-crore initiative that aims to bring one lakh hectares under certified organic cultivation by 2028, benefiting over 90,000 farmers and strengthening more than 600 cooperatives and producer groups, with pineapple continuing to be one of the State’s priority horticultural crops.

Renowned for their exceptional sweetness, low acidity and an impressive Brix value of around 16–18°, making them among the sweetest pineapples produced in the country, Meghalaya pineapples continue to earn appreciation from consumers across India and overseas. The State’s growing reputation in international markets is reflected in exports to Lulu Hypermarkets in Dubai and the UAE, with farmer producer organisations such as Jirang Organic Agro FPO playing an important role in connecting Meghalaya’s farmers to global consumers.

The growing popularity of the festival mirrors the increasing demand for Meghalaya’s pineapples. Fresh pineapple sales at the festival have risen from 7.7 metric tonnes in 2023 to 15.4 metric tonnes in 2025, doubling within just two years. Beyond these numbers, the festival has become an important platform for creating long-term market opportunities, helping farmer collectives establish partnerships with leading retailers and businesses including Reliance Fresh, Amazon Karigar, Safal Foods Pvt. Ltd. and Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters, translating into stronger and more sustainable incomes for farmers.

The fourth edition promises to build on this momentum. The inaugural programme on July 10 will be graced by the Hon’ble Union Minister of DoNER and Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, as Chief Guest, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad K. Sangma, as Guest of Honour. The programme will feature interactions with pineapple farmers and entrepreneurs, the screening of a special film on Meghalaya pineapples, the signing of strategic Memoranda of Understanding with Flipkart and National E-Markets Limited (NeML) to further strengthen market access for farmers, and the release of the commemorative publication, “Meghalaya Pineapple: A Four-Edition Journey,” documenting the festival’s remarkable evolution since its inception in 2023.

Over three days, visitors to Dilli Haat will have the opportunity to purchase fresh Meghalaya pineapples directly from farmer groups, savour the country’s sweetest pineapples, explore a range of value-added products, interact with entrepreneurs and farmer collectives, and experience the rich agricultural and cultural heritage of Meghalaya.

Alongside the flavours of Meghalaya, visitors will also experience the rich cultural vibrancy of the State through captivating performances by artists from the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Programme (MGMP), making the festival a unique celebration of agriculture, music and community. The Government of Meghalaya invites consumers, retailers, businesses, entrepreneurs and the people of Delhi to be part of this unique celebration from July 10–12, 2026, and discover how Meghalaya is creating opportunities for its farmers while sharing the very best of its produce, culture and creativity with the nation.
