EMAK Welcomes Kerala’s New Liquor Policy

Kochi: The Event Management Association Kerala (EMAK) has welcomed the Kerala Government’s revised liquor policy for 2025–2026, which allows hotels above the three-star category to serve liquor on dry days if they are hosting weddings or international conferences.

Terming the decision as a progressive step towards boosting Kerala’s tourism sector, especially MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and destination weddings, EMAK stated that the move reflects the government’s clear intention to strengthen the state’s position as a premier event destination.

“Our long-standing requests have been acknowledged. This is a much-needed boost for the industry, particularly in attracting high-value domestic and international events,” said Raju Kannampuzha, President, Event Management Association Kerala.

EMAK, the leading association of event managers in the state, is committed to promoting Kerala as a preferred destination for weddings and events. The association believes that this policy change will significantly enhance the state’s global competitiveness in the event and hospitality sectors.
