EMotorad to open new Electric Cycle Manufacturing Facility in Kuppam; Signs MOU with Andhra Pradesh Government

Tirupati/Kuppam : EMotorad, India’s leading electric cycle brand, is set to build a new manufacturing facility in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, as part of the region’s Green City Initiative. The company has been allotted a 7-acre site for the plant, a move that advances its goal of making electric mobility accessible to Indians.

The project is being carried out with the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA), as part of a broader development effort led by IIT Kanpur and KADA. Beyond expanding e-mobility adoption, EMotorad expects the facility to generate employment for the local community.

“Kuppam holds a special place in EMotorad’s journey. It’s where we set our world record earlier this year, and that moment stayed with us. It made us want to put down roots here, not just pass through. Setting up this facility is just an indication of our intentions for a city that has given us so much. Beyond manufacturing, this is about building something lasting for the people of Kuppam, real jobs, real infrastructure, and a stake in India’s clean mobility future. We’re deeply thankful to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu for his leadership behind the Green City Initiative and for trusting us to be part of that story.”, said Kunal Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of EMotorad.

The new plant will add to EMotorad’s manufacturing capacity, and will support production of affordable EMotorad Electric cycles for people of the city, Andhra Pradesh and India.

The Green City Initiative is built around cleaner, smarter urban development, and EMotorad’s participation brings together green mobility, domestic manufacturing, and job creation into a single hallmark EV project, a first of its kind at that.

EMotorad has built a strong position in India’s electric mobility market with e-cycles designed for commuters, students, fitness riders, and adventure enthusiasts. The Kuppam facility marks another step in the company’s push to make India a global hub for electric mobility manufacturing.

The Pune EV Major joins a group of esteemed organisations selected for the initiative, including prominent Dairy Products Company Mother Dairy, Adidas & Aditya Birla Group’s Hindalco, underscoring the scale of the effort to position Kuppam as a hub for sustainable development.
