Franklin India Money Market Fund marks 24th anniversary with AUM crossing the Rs.3900 crore mark

Mumbai  — Franklin India Money Market Fund, one of India’s longest-running debt mutual funds, is celebrating its 24th anniversary with a significant milestone its assets under management (AUM) have crossed the Rs 3900 crore mark. The achievement underscores the scheme’s consistent performance and strong investor trust over more than two decades.

Benchmarked against the Nifty Money Market Index A-I, the fund has delivered competitive returns across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons. Since inception, the scheme has generated a return of 7.1% CAGR till end of March 2026, positioning it as a reliable option within the money market fund category.

Long-term wealth creation remains a key highlight. A one-time investment of Rs 10,000 at inception would have grown more than five times to Rs 52,452 as of end-March 2026. Similarly, a systematic investment plan (SIP) of Rs 10,000 per month since inception would now be valued at over Rs 75 lakh till the end of March 2026, demonstrating the power of disciplined investing even in relatively low-risk debt instruments.

“With yields inching up due to the impact of geopolitical developments highly liquid money market instruments which this scheme invests in offer attractive returns for potential investors. Investors who are adopting a wait and watch approach in light of multiple uncertainties will find this fund a competitive investment option,” says Rahul Goswami, CIO Fixed Income, Franklin Templeton – India.

Designed for investors seeking liquidity, stability, and optimal returns, the scheme invests in high-quality money market instruments. It carries no entry or exit load, making it an efficient parking avenue for short-term funds.

As interest rate cycles evolve and market uncertainties persist, Franklin India Money Market Fund continues to position itself as a prudent choice for investors looking to balance liquidity, safety, and returns.
