Girnar Foundation, the CSR arm of CarDekho Group, successfully concluded the third edition of its annual Sow to Grow initiative, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation through collective action. Focused on advancing ecological restoration, increasing green cover, and encouraging greater community participation in protecting the environment, the month-long activity resulted in the preparation and dispersal of 67,000 seed balls through the collective participation of employees, students, educational institutions, NGOs, government bodies, and environmental partners across Jaipur and Gurugram.
Employees across the Group led the initiative by actively participating in seed ball making and dispersal activities. As part of the programme, seed ball making workshops were organized in collaboration with institutions including Udayan Care, Mahatma Gandhi Government School, and Pragya Niketan, drawing participation from children and young individuals, encouraging environmental awareness and community participation from an early age.
The initiative culminated in large-scale seed ball dispersal drives across identified forest areas and green spaces, in collaboration with the Forest Departments in Rajasthan and Haryana, Save Aravali Trust, educational institutions, and community partners. Thousands of seed balls were also distributed across schools and NGOs to encourage community-led plantation efforts. Through this collaborative approach, Sow to Grow contributes to strengthening biodiversity, supporting healthier ecosystems, while advancing the Foundation’s commitment to UNSDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 13 (Climate Action).
Talking about the initiative, Pihu Jain, Head, Girnar Foundation, said, “At Girnar Foundation, we believe that meaningful environmental change begins with collective action. Over the past three years, Sow to Grow has become a cherished annual tradition, bringing our employees together with schools, NGOs, communities, and government partners to contribute towards increasing green cover and supporting ecological restoration. What started as an environmental initiative has evolved into a shared movement that inspires greater community participation. As we continue this journey, we remain committed to creating lasting environmental impact through sustained collaboration and shared responsibility.”
