GSFC University Hosts 8th Convocation Ceremony

The 8th Convocation Ceremony of GSFC University was held on August 29, 2026, at Fertilizernagar, Vadodara, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduating students. During the ceremony, degrees were conferred upon 815 students, comprising 488 male students and 327 female students, from the School of Technology, School of Science and School of Management and Entrepreneurship.

Padma Bhushan Dr V. K. Saraswat, Former Director General, DRDO, and former Member of NITI Aayog, graced the convocation ceremony as the Chief Guest. He conferred Gold Medals upon 17 students and Silver Medals upon 15 students. Female students once again demonstrated outstanding academic performance, securing 12 of the 17 Gold Medals awarded at the ceremony. The degrees were conferred by Shri P. K. Taneja, IAS (Retd.), President, GSFC University.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Governing Body and Board of Management of GSFC University, government officials, senior officials of GSFC Limited and GSFC University, industry leaders, teaching and non- teaching staff members, graduating students and their parents.

Vice Chancellor, Professor G. R. Sinha presented the University Report, highlighting the institution’s academic growth, achievements, research initiatives, industry engagement, student development and other key milestones during the academic year.

Shri P. K. Taneja, IAS (Retd.), President, GSFC University, congratulated all 815 graduating students, including the 17 Gold and 15 Silver Medallists, and acknowledged the support of their parents, faculty and mentors. He said that the convocation marked both the culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of a new journey filled with opportunities and responsibilities.

Highlighting GSFC University’s growth over the past eleven years, Shri Taneja said that the University has evolved from two academic programmes to a multidisciplinary institution offering 26 programmes to over 3,400 students. He reiterated the University’s focus on its three strategic pillars, Industry-Aligned, Technology-Driven and Future-Ready supported by strong industry collaborations, experiential learning, research and innovation. He also highlighted the University’s 100% placement achievement in B.Tech Chemical Engineering, B.Tech Fire & EHS and M.Sc Chemistry. Looking ahead, he emphasised that the University’s priority would be to deepen quality in teaching, research and student development, and urged graduates to remain future-ready and become proud ambassadors of GSFC University.

In his convocation address, Padma Bhushan Dr V. K. Saraswat congratulated the graduating students, medal winners, their parents and faculty members. Appreciating GSFC University’s growth and its focus on experiential learning and industry engagement, he highlighted the important role of universities in preparing young people to contribute to India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047 through technology, innovation and self-reliance. He also appreciated the University’s initiatives in research, industry-oriented education and specialised learning facilities.

Addressing the graduates, Dr. Saraswat urged them to continuously learn, adapt and innovate in a rapidly changing technological environment. He emphasised the importance of scientific temperament, digital skills, critical thinking, collaboration, resilience and, above all, integrity and character. He encouraged the graduates to transform their knowledge into meaningful solutions, contribute to society and use their professional success as an instrument of nation-building.

The event marked not only the completion of the students’ formal education at GSFC University but also the beginning of a new chapter in their professional and personal lives. The graduates are set to pursue diverse pathways across industry, higher education, research, entrepreneurship and other professional fields.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Manish Pradhan, Registrar, GSFC University, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, members of the University leadership, teaching and non- teaching staff members, parents and graduating students for their presence and contribution to the successful conduct of the 8th Convocation Ceremony.
