IMT HYDERABAD HOSTS CONVOCATION FOR THE CLASS OF 2026

Hyderabad: IMT Hyderabad hosted its convocation ceremony for the 2024- 2026 batch on campus, marking the successful culmination of the academic programme. The  ceremony featured an inspiring procession led by Dean Academics, Prof (Dr) Sourabh  Bhattacharya, alongside the Chief Guest, Shri Ramesh S Ramakrishnan, Chairman,  Transworld, and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardee 2025. 

The procession included Prof (Dr) K M Baharul Islam, Director, IMT Hyderabad, members  of the Board of Governors, and faculty. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the  inaugural lamp by the Chief Guest and the Director, symbolising unity and harmony. 

In his address, Prof (Dr) K M Baharul Islam introduced Prof Atanu Ghosh, Member, Board  of Governors, and renowned author Geeta Ramakrishnan, and expressed gratitude to Chief  Mentor Shri Kamal Nath and President Shri Bakul Nath for their guidance. He reaffirmed  IMT Hyderabad’s commitment to innovation, industry integration, and future-ready education,  encouraging students to embrace adaptability and excellence in a global learning environment.  He highlighted key programmes such as PGDM (LSCM) in partnership with CII-IL and PGDM  (IT) with HCL Technologies, supported by over 100 industry practitioners, along with  experiential learning through internships with 70+ corporate houses, global immersion  programmes, Distinguished Speaker Series featuring experts from the US and Europe, and  international faculty interactions. 

He also underscored the strong research output of the distinguished faculty at IMT Hyderabad  across diverse disciplines. The Director further elaborated on strategic partnerships with  Evernorth Health Services and the Retailers Association of India. Further, he highlighted the  expansion of customised executive education programmes for the industry partners. He also  highlighted the vibrant student life, impactful social initiatives, and a strong alumni network of  IMT Hyderabad, supported by digital platforms and initiatives such as Ullas 2.0 across  metropolitan cities. 

Chief Mentor Shri Kamal Nath addressed the graduating class, emphasising the growing role  of artificial intelligence and the need for technological literacy alongside human skills such as  communication, collaboration, and ethical judgment. He encouraged students to pursue  continuous learning, adaptability, and purpose-driven leadership focused on societal impact. 

Chief Guest Shri Ramesh S Ramakrishnan congratulated the graduates and highlighted that  business is fundamentally about people and purpose. He emphasised collaboration, curiosity,  and integrity as essential to leadership, while noting the evolving global landscape shaped by  geopolitical shifts. He encouraged students to approach challenges with courage and contribute  meaningfully to society. 

In recognition of academic excellence, six gold medals, five silver medals, and one  Distinguished Achievement Award were conferred upon outstanding students of the batch.

The ceremony concluded with the Director honouring the Chief Guest, followed by a vote of  thanks by Prof (Dr) Sourabh Bhattacharya, who congratulated the graduates and wished them  success. The event reaffirmed IMT Hyderabad’s commitment to fostering excellence,  leadership, and societal contribution.
