Chennai : Indian Bank participated in the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a nationwide awareness campaign conducted from June 17 to June 26, 2026, under the aegis of the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (DoSJE), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
As part of the campaign, a pledge-taking ceremony for awareness against the hazards of substance abuse and drug menace in India was held at the Corporate Office of the Indian Bank in Chennai.
The pledge was taken by Shri Binod Kumar, MD & CEO, along with Executive Directors Shri Ashutosh Choudhury and Shri Shiv Bajrang Singh. All Chief General Managers, General Managers, and other senior officials of the Bank also took the pledge. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to spreading awareness and contributing towards a healthier and addiction-free society.
Under the awareness drive, Bank employees have been educated about the ill effects of drug abuse and encouraged to support the vision of a drug-free society. Employees were encouraged to sign up for the Nasha Mukti Pledge through the prescribed portal, and banners with awareness messages promoting a drug-free life were placed in strategic places in and around the office premises.
Through its participation in the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Indian Bank reaffirms its commitment towards supporting national efforts that are oriented towards social welfare and community development thereby remaining committed to raising awareness and bringing about social change.
