Thiruvananthapuram Division, Southern Railway today organised two functions at Ochira and Sasthankotta Railway Stations to mark the introduction of new stoppages for important Express trains.
Additional Stoppage for Train No. 16366 Nagercoil Jn – Kottayam Daily Express at Ochira
Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, Shri George Kurian, inaugurated the inaugural stoppage of Train No. 16366 Nagercoil Junction – Kottayam Daily Express at Ochira Railway Station and ceremonially flagged off the train in the august presence of Shri C.R. Mahesh, Hon’ble MLA, elected representatives, railway staff, passengers and members of the public.
Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Divyakant Chandrakar, delivered the welcome address.
With effect from 03rd September 2025, the train will halt at Ochira at 18:07 hrs. and depart at 18:08 hrs.
Additional Stoppage for Ernad Express at Sasthankotta
Additional stoppage for Train No. 16605 Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Ernad Express commenced today(03.09.25). Timings: Arrival – 19:00 hrs. | Departure – 19:01 hrs
It’s pairing Train No. 16606 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Mangaluru Central Ernad Express will stop at Sasthankotta Railway Station with effect from 04th September 2025. Timings: Arrival – 05:11 hrs. | Departure – 05:12 hrs.
Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, Shri George Kurian, flagged off Train No. 16605 at Sasthankotta today, in the august presence of Shri Kodikunnil Suresh, Hon’ble MP, Shri Kovoor Kunjumon, Hon’ble MLA other elected representatives, mass presence of passengers and local residents.
These additional stoppages have been approved by the Railway Board to cater to the long-standing demand of the public and will greatly benefit the passengers.
