Kerala covid pandemic became more critical. Till today, including 221 doctors and nurses, 435 health care workers tested positive. Out of the total affected health care workers, 98 are hospital staffs, 52 are health inspectors and 26 are from various departments such as police, volunteers etc.
Over all Kerala, the Capital City, Thiruvananthapuram is alarming . The highest number of covid affected healthcare workers are from Thiruvananthapuram – 94. Out of this 49 are doctors and nurses.
The high upsetting numbers are already affected the functioning of private hospitals in the City. Most of the doctors and nurses are kept under quarantine. In Thiruvananthapuram, the source of infection, in many cases, still remains unknown and that creates a big challenge to control the spread. The government is highly concerned about the spread among health care workers. Even personnel at healthcare centres other than COVID hospitals are among those infected.
