Gurgaon: KIIT World School, Sohna, has set up a shooting range on campus in collaboration with Regalmarksman Shooting Club to introduce students to skill-based sports and structured training in shooting. The facility was inaugurated recently, marking the school’s move to expand opportunities beyond conventional sports.
At the launch, students were familiarised with the basics of shooting, including firearm handling, safety protocols and foundational techniques. The school informed that the range will function under the supervision of trained coaches, ensuring guided and safe exposure to the sport. The initiative is designed to provide students with hands-on learning alongside academics, in line with the experiential learning approach outlined in the New Education Policy 2020.
According to the school administration, the programme will focus on building core competencies such as discipline, focus and precision, while also introducing students to the technical aspects of shooting sports.
Principal Neelima Kamrah said that activities like shooting help in strengthening concentration and mental balance among students. She added that the initiative aims to encourage students to explore diverse sporting avenues and develop confidence through structured training.
