New Delhi: Manasthali, a leading mental health and wellness platform, has empowered a 31-year-old woman to overcome Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of domestic violence by designing comprehensive mental health support services and focusing on trauma recovery. It provided a safe, supportive environment for her to heal, regain control of her life and thrive.
According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS), 2019-2021 around 29.3 per cent of married Indian women between the ages of 18 and 49 have experienced domestic/sexual violence; 3.1 per cent of pregnant women aged 18 to 49 have suffered physical violence during their pregnancy. Domestic violence remains a pervasive issue and its psychological impact can be profound, leading to long-lasting trauma such as PTSD, which can severely hinder a survivor’s ability to lead a fulfilling life.
Sia (name changed), who was married for the last 5 years, was enduring physical, mental, and emotional abuse. She was having persistent distressing memories, flashbacks, or nightmares related to the traumatic events, that had happened in her life, even after being separated from her husband.
Manasthali recognised the unique challenges faced by these women and has developed tailored therapy programs to address their specific needs. Manasthali’s team of experienced mental health professionals made sure that she received the personalized care she needed.

Through trauma-informed care and holistic practices, Sia also regained emotional stability and a sense of safety. Together, these therapies enabled the patient to reclaim control over her life and move forward with resilience.
