Oil India Bagjan gas well fire found after 5 months

Guwhathi: Oil India has reported that the fire at Bagjan gas well in Assam was fully controlled on Sunday after a five-month rigorous vigil. According to the company, the gas wells have been completely closed in the process. Three oil India employees were killed and several others injured in the worst industrial calamity in the north-east. The joint efforts of several parties, including foreign experts, also faced several failures in the process of overcoming the well-being. The gas had become uncontrollable from May 27 in Bagjan in Tinsukia district and caught fire on June 9, killing two oil India employees. Thereafter, on September 9, a 25-year-old oil India electrical engineer lost his life due to high voltage electric shock.

On the other hand, there was a huge loss in this area in this incident. People including houses, domestic animals and household property were seriously damaged. Oil India promises to meet the demands of the people by taking responsibility for the loss of people. But, so far, oil India has not done anything, all the people have started agitating about it. Several people, including stone pelting, magistrates, were seriously injured today demanding compensation. Seven persons including a magistrate were injured in stone pelting during a demonstration in Tinsukia district on Saturday demanding compensation for the damage caused by the oil India gas well fire in Bagjan. This information was given by the police.

Police said, 18 persons have been arrested in connection with the incident in nutan Ranggora village. Police said, magistrate Jaideep Arjak was explaining to the protestors to end the blockade. His head has been hurt in stone pelting. In addition to Tinsukia, Superintendent of Police, Repunjay Kakoti said that the police had to release tear gas shells and lathi charge. Villagers claim that many men and women have been injured in Lathicharge. Officials said, the protestors were sitting on Dharna from Friday night demanding compensation by closing the road near the gas well.
