Prawaas 5.0 Concludes Successfully, Celebrating BOCI’s Decade of Leadership in India’s Passenger Transport Sector

Gandhinagar : Prawaas 5.0 concluded successfully today, bringing to a close three days of exhibitions, conferences, the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 and business networking, reaffirming its position as India’s leading platform for the passenger transport industry. Coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI), the landmark fifth edition brought together stakeholders from government, industry and the mobility ecosystem to collectively advance the future of passenger transport in India.

The concluding day also witnessed the visit of Shri Pravinbhai Mali, Hon’ble Transport Minister, Government of Gujarat, who toured the exhibition and interacted with exhibitors, industry representatives, and transport operators. Shri Dineshbhai Makwana, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Ahmedabad, also visited the exhibition, reflecting continued support from public representatives for India’s passenger transport sector.

Featuring 20,129 registrations, 227 exhibitors, 20 startups, 15 conference sessions with 120 speakers, and participation from 31 States & UTs and 11 countries, Prawaas 5.0 reflected the growing scale and significance of India’s passenger transport ecosystem. Over three days, the event facilitated business networking, technology showcases, product demonstrations and knowledge exchange, creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration across the industry.

The valedictory session was attended by Shri Jagdeo Singh Khalsa, Chairman, BOCI; Shri Prasanna Patwardhan, President, BOCI; Shri Alah Baksh Afzal, National Vice President, BOCI; Shri Dharmaraj D. R., General Secretary, BOCI; Shri Harsh Kotak, Treasurer, BOCI; Shri Siddiq Gandhi, Convenor, Prawaas 5.0; and Shri Jagdish Patankar, Executive Chairman, MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Pvt. Ltd., the Event Curators of Prawaas 5.0, who reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening India’s passenger transport ecosystem through continued collaboration, innovation and policy engagement.

Two MoUs were signed during the event. The first, between Rotary International District 3080 and BOCI Naari (BOCI’s women’s wing), aims to implement the ‘Women at the Steering Wheel’ initiative to support the skilling, licensing, employment, and self-ownership of women as professional drivers across India. The second MoU, between Rotary International District 3080 and BOCI, focuses on promoting the mental well-being of drivers and their families while advancing road safety awareness.

The Exhibitor Awards were also presented during the event to honour exhibitors at Prawaas 5.0 for their outstanding contributions, innovation, and excellence in showcasing solutions for the passenger mobility sector.

A key highlight of this year’s edition was the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026, which honoured 72 awardees through 50 BOCI Excellence Awards and 22 redBus People’s Choice Awards, recognising outstanding contributions to operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, safety and customer service across India’s passenger transport industry.

Across 15 conference sessions, policymakers, transport authorities, industry leaders and operators deliberated on key priorities including electrification, policy reforms, multimodal connectivity, financing, digital transformation, road safety, tourism mobility, insurance, driver skilling and startup innovation, reinforcing the importance of collaborative action in building a future-ready passenger transport ecosystem.

With the successful conclusion of its fifth edition, Prawaas 5.0 leaves behind new partnerships, fresh perspectives and a renewed commitment to advancing the future of passenger mobility in India. As BOCI marks 10 years of dedicated service to the sector, the landmark event reflects the industry’s shared vision for a safer, smarter and more sustainable passenger transport ecosystem.

Organised by the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI), hosted by the Akhil Gujarat Pravasi Vahan Sanchalak Mahamandal, co-hosted by the Gujarat Luxury Cab Owners Association and the Gujarat Tourist Vehicles Operators Association, and curated by MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Pvt. Ltd., Prawaas 5.0 stands as a testament to the collective efforts of the organiser, host and co-host associations in advancing India’s passenger transport industry.
