Rahul Gandhi Kick starts election campaign in poll bound Karnataka; offers monthly unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000

Belagavi : Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has  on Monday promised that ‘Yuva Nidhi’ scheme will be implemented to empower unemployed youth of Karnataka when Congress comes to power in the state. He was addressing a rally in Belagavi to kick start the election campaign for the upcoming assembly poll in the state.

Gandhi said that monthly unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000 would be given to graduates and Rs. 1,500 to diploma holders for 2 years. He was addressing the ‘Yuva Kranti Samavesha’ in Belagavi, Karnataka today. He added that 10 lakh youths would be given unemployment and 2.5 lakh government vacancies in the state would also be filled.

Rahul Gandhi in his speech said that people of the state told him during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ that Karnataka government was  the most corrupt in the country as one needs to give 40% commission for any work to be done in the state. He added that contractors’ association and school management association wrote to PM complaining about this but he has not even bothered to give a reply till now. He alleged that an MLA’s son was caught taking bribe but the government protected him. He mentioned various scams in the state like PSI scam, Assistant Professor job scam, Assistant Engineer job scam. He stated that just like the Centre government is handing over all the businesses and industries to Gautam Adani, friends of BJP are getting all the benefits in Karnataka and this is leading to rampant corruption in the state.

The Congress leader said that people of Karnataka wanted to vote out the BJP government and form a government which cares for the poor, marginalised sections, common people, small businessmen. He added that all Congress leaders would fight the Karnataka Assembly elections unitedly and the party would sweep the polls. He further said that he would visit all the districts where he is required to campaign.

Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Bharat Jodo Yatra gave the message that the country belongs to everyone and not just to 2 or 3 selected people like Adani ji. He said that lakhs of people have opened shops of love in the market of hatred, and this is what India is.

Rahul Gandhi repeated the announcements made earlier by the Congress party in the state. He said that women would be given Rs. 2,000 per month under ‘ Griha Lakshmi’ scheme. Besides, 10 kg. rice would be provided to every BPL family under the ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme and 200 units of free electricity would be given under ‘Griha Jyoti’ scheme.
