Thiruvananthapuram: Train services will be partially cancelled/regulated as detailed below to facilitate traffic blocks for a) mechanized track maintenance works in Kollam Jn. yard(station limit) & Ernakulam Town yard and b) for the Limited Use Subway temporary girder removal works between Perinad and Sastankotta stations.
PARTIAL CANCELLATION
1. Train No. 16127 Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur Daily Express leaving Chennai Egmore on 11th and 13th and 28th December, 2021 will be short terminated at Kollam Jn. The train will not operate from Kollam Jn. to Guruvayur due to traffic regulation for track maintenance works at Kollam yard and Limited Use Subway works between Perinad and Sasthankotta.
2. Train No. 16127 Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur Daily Express leaving Chennai Egmore on 15th, 16th, 17th and 19th December, 2021 will be short terminated at Ernakulam Jn. The train will not run from Ernakulam Jn. to Guruvayur due to traffic regulations for track maintenance works at Ernakulam Town yard.
3. Train No. 16325 Nilambur – Kottayam Daily Express leaving Nilambur and Train No. 16306 Kannur – Ernakulam Daily Intercity Express leaving Kannur on 22nd, 24th, 27th, 28th and 29th December, 2021 will be short terminated at Aluva. The trains will be partially cancelled between Aluva and their destination stations due to traffic regulations for track maintenance works at Ernakulam Town yard.
4. Train No. 16792 Palakkad – Tirunelveli Palaruvi Express leaving Palakkad Jn. on 02nd January, 2022 will be short terminated at Kayamkulam Jn. The train will not run from Kayamkulam Jn. to Tirunelveli Jn. due to traffic regulation for Limited Use Subway work.
REGULATION
The following weekly trains will be delayed due to traffic regulation in Ernakulam Town yard.
1. Train No. 22114 Kochuveli – Lokmanya Tilak Biweekly Superfast, leaving Kochuveli at 00.35 on 16th and 20th December, 2021 will be regulated for 1 hour en route.
2. Train No. 22149 Ernakulam Junction – Pune Junction Biweekly Superfast, leaving Ernakulam Jn. at 05.15 hrs. on 17th December, 2021 will be regulated for 1 hour en route.
3. Train No. 22653 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly Express, leaving Thiruvananthapuram Ctrl. at 00.30 hrs. on 18th, December, 2021 will be regulated for 1 hour en route.
Traffic Block Details for Reference:
Southern Railway aims to achieve maximum effective maintenance and schedules corridor blocks affecting bare minimum train traffic disruption. Maintenance works are scheduled during night from 11th December, 2021 to 02nd January, 2022; Kollam Jn. yard track maintenance during night: 11/12.12.21, 13/14.12.21 and Ernakulam Town yard track maintenance during night – 15/16.12.21 to 19/20.12.21, 21/22.12.21, 23/24.12.21 and 26/27.12.21 to 29.12.21. Removal of termporary girders from Limited Use Subway Up and Down lines between Perinad and Sastankotta stations scheduling during night 28/29.12.21 and 02/03.01.22.
