The situation is peaceful in Barak Valley of South Assam. AIR correspondent reports that the Barak valley have maintained its fame as Island of Peace. CAB was a longstanding demand in the valley that has become reality now.

Valley has a mixed reaction on it. Law and Order situation is normal here. Mobile internet and bulk SMS are banned as precautionary measure.

In different phases since 1951, a number of refugees from Bangaladesh got settled in three districts of this valley.

Many of them got permanent settlement but temporary exercises like NRC was creating a kind of fear among them.

Now, enactment of this law have offered a confidence to them. Perhaps, this is why some newspapers in the valley have termed this law as moment of immunity from the curse of partition.
