The Leela Mumbai Celebrates the Spirit of Onam with Curated Dining Experiences at Jamavar & Citrus

Mumbai  – As Onam marks the arrival of the harvest season, Kerala comes alive with the promise of abundance, prosperity and renewal. Rooted in the annual homecoming of King Mahabali, the celebration finds one of its most cherished expressions around the dining table. This year, The Leela Mumbai brings this timeless tradition to the city through two distinctive dining experiences that embody the brand’s philosophy of True Indian Luxury: an authentic Onam Sadhya at Jamavar and a festive brunch at Citrus.

At Jamavar, The Leela Mumbai’s acclaimed Indian restaurant, guests are invited to savour an authentic Onam Sadhya through specially curated vegetarian and non-vegetarian set menus inspired by the state’s rich culinary heritage. Thoughtfully composed to honour the significance of the occasion, the feast brings together signature preparations including Addi Poli Mutton, Malabar Prawns, Kumarakom Fish Curry, Chicken Ghee Roast and Malabar Mutton Curry, alongside beloved classics such as Avial, Koottu Curry, Erusseri and Kalan. Served with Chamba Rice or Plain Rice, accompanied by Appam or Malabar Parotha, and concluding with Parippu Prathaman and Pal Payasam, the Sadhya reflects the generosity and warmth that define the celebration.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the menus, the Executive Chef said, “The beauty of Onam lies in the stories shared around the table. With these specially curated menus, we hope to bring the essence of Kerala’s culinary heritage to our guests, creating moments of togetherness through thoughtfully prepared, authentic cuisine.”

The Onam Sadhya at Jamavar will be served on 26 August 2026, from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM, priced at INR 4,500 plus taxes per person.

At Citrus, the festivities continue with a celebratory Onam brunch that brings families and friends together over an abundant spread inspired by the harvest season. Alongside signature favourites, guests can enjoy interactive live stations serving Appam with Vegetable Stew, Dosa with Sambar and an assortment of chutneys, as well as Egg Roast. The experience concludes on a sweet note with Parippu Prathaman and Pal Payasam, creating the perfect setting for an afternoon of leisurely dining and shared celebrations.

The Onam Brunch at Citrus will take place on 26 August 2026, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, priced at INR 2,800 plus taxes per person.

Together, Jamavar and Citrus offer two distinctive ways to mark Onam at The Leela Mumbai. While Jamavar presents the ritual and elegance of a traditional Sadhya, Citrus offers a relaxed festive brunch where loved ones can gather over exceptional food and warm hospitality. Thoughtfully curated to honour one of India’s most cherished harvest celebrations, both experiences reflect The Leela’s enduring commitment to Atithi Devo Bhava and the timeless essence of True Indian Luxury.
