Tourism Malaysia (Tm) Launches Chalo Malaysia Mumbai Metro Branding Campaign To Drive Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 Awareness

MUMBAI:  Tourism Malaysia Mumbai has officially launched the “CHALO MALAYSIA” Mumbai Metro Branding Campaign, a major destination marketing initiative running from 10 August to 10 September 2026 along Mumbai Metro Line 1 (Blue Line). Strategically designed to drive international visitor arrivals under the ongoing Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign, the month-long activation transforms a high-capacity train into a moving visual showcase of Malaysia’s premier tourism offerings.

Operating along the high-density Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar transit corridor, the campaign delivers continuous destination visibility to over 500,000 daily commuters across key commercial hubs, including MIDC, SEEPZ, Saki Naka, and Andheri. Consequently, the initiative directly targets priority outbound travel segments, such as corporate executives, working professionals, entrepreneurs, students, families, and young urban travellers, As told to our Newsman Sachin Murdeshwar To stimulate immediate booking interest, the campaign incorporates targeted tactical promotional elements, featuring exclusive holiday packages to Malaysia starting from INR 11,000 (terms and conditions apply).

Specifically, the promotional push highlights flagship destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Penang, Perak, Genting Highlands, Sabah, and Sarawak. Simultaneously, it accentuates key niche tourism segments including leisure holidays, family vacations, luxury travel, shopping, destination weddings, adventure tourism, gastronomy, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

Speaking during the Tourism Malaysia Sales Mission to India, Mr Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, said:

India continues to be an important source market for Malaysia, contributing 738,709 visitor arrivals in the first half of 2026. While arrivals moderated by 8.5 per cent year-on-year from 807,664 during the same period in 2025, the market remains a key growth priority for Tourism Malaysia. Building on this substantial visitor base, Tourism Malaysia is stepping up trade engagement and promotional activities across key commercial hubs to strengthen demand and accelerate momentum towards Visit Malaysia 2026-2027.

Looking ahead, supported by strong direct air connectivity and continuous travel facilitation measures, Tourism Malaysia remains committed to deepening strategic partnerships with airlines, travel trade partners, media organisations, and tourism stakeholders across India to ensure sustained visitor growth throughout the Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign.
