The direct flight service between Vijayawada and Singapore will be launched by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu at the Gannavaram Airport this evening. With the launch, the Vijayawada Airport will become the second airport in the state after Visakhapatnam to have international connectivity.
“IndiGo Airlines will operate the Singapore-Vijayawada services which will open a gateway to Singapore and other Eastern countries for the people of Andhra Pradesh. With this international connectivity, apart from business travellers, who frequently fly to Singapore, tourists will have an opportunity to explore Singapore and other nearby areas.
The flights will also enhance the brand image of Vijayawada on the global tourism map, generate employment and increase tourism revenue. No doubt, the international connectivity will add strength to the New Sunrise State of Andhra Pradesh.
