
GUWAHATI : The Assam-Mizoram border dispute is on the rise. The Assam-Mizoram inter-state boundary dispute continued for nineteen days. Amidst the 19-day long Assam-Mizoram inter-State border dispute, tension prevails following an explosion at a government school in Cachar district of southern Assam. This information was given by the police. A senior Assam police official said, some miscreants from Mizoram detonated a bomb at upper Panom Lower Primary School at midnight, causing huge damage to the school. However, no casualty has been reported on the spot. The incident took place at 1.30 pm, when no one was present there. Cachar District Deputy Commissioner Kriti Jalli and Superintendent of Police Maelstrom Lal Meena went to school on Saturday and interacted with the local people. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Southern Assam, Dilip Kumar Dey told a news agency on phone that the incident has been conveyed to the Mizoram police as the crooks belonged to the neighbouring state. On the other hand, during the border dispute, a delegation of Assam Congress led by Devrata Saikia carried out a border round.
Assam Assembly opposition leader and Assam Congress leader Devrata Saikia said that a state Congress delegation was threatened by a Mizo official during his visit to the Assam-Mizoram border. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee delegation visited the disputed Assam-Mizoram border under the leadership of Devrata Saikia. The delegation was also accompanied by All India Women Congress President Sushmita Dev during the visit. Saikia shared a video stating how a Mizo officer is appearing to ask the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee delegation to leave the disputed place. In a video released, the Mijo officer came and threatened the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee delegation and asked him to leave the place soon. Saikia also said that it is very unfortunate that an official from a state on Indian soil tried to block a delegation which represents the assembly of another state. Assam Congress leader Saikia said that the disputed land is dominated by the Assam police by the Mijo police and is on the way to lose the land of the Government of Assam on behalf of the negligence of the Assam government
