Mumbai : Cellar 33, the Bordeaux-based international export and marketing agency and consultancy specialising in Champagne, wine and spirits, is strengthening its presence in India with its largest-ever international wine and spirits showcase, drawing from an expanded portfolio representing more than 70 producers across over 10 countries. From presenting 21 international producers in 2023 to building a wider network of wineries, Champagne houses and spirits producers, the agency has steadily expanded its role in connecting global producers with Indian importers, hospitality professionals and trade partners. This growth reflects Cellar 33’s continued focus on developing long-term commercial relationships, facilitating market access and creating new business opportunities in India. The agency will present a curated selection from its international portfolio, alongside dedicated Champagne and spirits experiences, masterclasses and professional discussions, at ProWine Mumbai 2026, taking place on 18–19 November at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.
Founded in 2023 by Amrita Singh and Mattia Antonio Cianca, Cellar 33 has steadily strengthened its presence in India, connecting international wine and spirits producers with importers, hospitality professionals and trade partners. The founders’ engagement with the Indian market began with Vinexpo India 2022 in Mumbai and Delhi. At ProWine Mumbai 2023, Cellar 33 presented 21 international producers from six countries. The showcase grew in 2024 to 25 producers and 42 wine references, including 14 Champagne producers. In 2025, the agency expanded its participation to more than 35 producers and 65 wine references, including 12 Champagne producers, while introducing its first South African collection.
Beyond expanding its portfolio, Cellar 33 has translated exhibition participation into commercial opportunities. Following ProWine Mumbai 2024, the agency secured import agreements for 12 participating producers through two Indian importers. Building on this progress, its engagement in 2025 facilitated import arrangements for seven South African wine producers, creating further opportunities for international wineries to establish a presence in India.
The progression from 21 producers showcased in 2023 to a portfolio of over 70 in 2026 reflects Cellar 33’s expanding network and its continued focus on building long-term commercial relationships. The agency’s work extends beyond exhibitions, supporting producers in understanding the Indian market, identifying suitable import partners and developing business opportunities.
Amrita Singh, Co-Founder of Cellar 33, said, “From the outset, our ambition has been to build meaningful connections between international producers and the Indian market, creating opportunities that translate into lasting commercial partnerships. Over the years, we have seen these relationships deliver tangible results, with producers securing import partnerships and establishing a foothold in India. Growing from 21 producers in 2023 to a portfolio of more than 70 in 2026 marks a significant milestone for Cellar 33. It reflects the confidence our international partners place in us and the opportunities we see in India. As we expand our portfolio, our focus remains on building sustainable partnerships, broadening market access and bringing more of the world’s wine and spirits to India.”
Inside Cellar 33’s Largest-Ever India Showcase
Cellar 33’s November showcase will feature an extensive selection of wines, Champagne and spirits from established international brands, family-owned estates, boutique wineries and independent producers. The showcase will bring together diverse origins, production styles and commercial positioning, offering Indian trade professionals opportunities to discover new products and engage directly with producers.
A key highlight will be the dedicated Champagne Bar, featuring renowned Champagne houses alongside independent growers. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore different Champagne styles, understand production approaches and interact with producers. The showcase will also highlight Champagne’s relevance beyond traditional wine trade channels, particularly across India’s luxury hospitality, destination wedding, private celebration and premium gifting segments.
The International Spirits Corner will introduce spirits producers from different countries, reflecting Cellar 33’s expanding portfolio beyond wine and Champagne. Additionally, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) Corner will feature medal-winning wines and spirits from multiple countries, allowing visitors to discover internationally recognised products and learn about the competition’s evaluation process.
International Experts and Producers to Lead Masterclasses
Education and professional engagement will form an important part of Cellar 33’s participation, with a programme of masterclasses, tastings and discussions featuring internationally recognised wine estates, Champagne producers and technical specialists.
Champagne-focused sessions will feature Pierre-Antoine Mairet, Export Director of Champagne Henriot, and Nicolas Revolte, owner of Champagne Gaston Revolte, alongside a Champagne education and growers’ tasting session led by French journalist Anne-Marie Chabbert.
The programme will also feature leading international wine estates, including Germany’s Weingut Robert Weil, Tuscany’s Villa Saletta, and Barolo producer Rocche dei Manzoni. Internationally recognised soil specialists Claude and Lydia Bourguignon, owners of Domaine Laroque d’Antan, will share their expertise on soil and terroir.
Karin Meriot, representing Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, will lead a tasting of award-winning wines and spirits, while Boland Cellars will present the diversity and commercial potential of South African wines. A professional discussion with Sanjay Menon, Founder and Managing Director of Sonarys, leading and iconic importer of wine and spirits in India, will address Indian import regulations and market realities, offering international producers practical insights into operating in India.
Together, these sessions will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and direct engagement between global producers, sommeliers, importers and hospitality professionals.
Building Opportunities Beyond the Exhibition
Cellar 33’s growing presence in India reflects its wider role in international wine and spirits business development. Beyond producer representation, the agency provides export and market development support, international product sourcing, strategic consulting, private-label development and bespoke beverage solutions.
Its network and industry expertise also support hotel groups, restaurant businesses, luxury hospitality operators, event companies and entrepreneurs exploring opportunities within the wine and spirits sector. By combining technical knowledge with an understanding of commercial requirements, Cellar 33 helps producers and businesses identify suitable partners and develop long-term opportunities.
Mattia Antonio Cianca, Co-Founder of Cellar 33, said, “India presents significant opportunities for international wine and spirits producers, but entering the market requires a clear understanding of its commercial and regulatory environment. Identifying the right partners, understanding distribution requirements and building relationships that can be sustained over time are essential. At Cellar 33, we bring together international expertise and local market understanding. Our participation this year is designed not only to introduce a wider range of producers but also to encourage meaningful discussions, professional education and new business opportunities.”
With its expanded international portfolio, dedicated Champagne and spirits showcases, and programme of expert-led sessions, Cellar 33 continues to strengthen its role in connecting global wine and spirits producers with the Indian market. Its November showcase at ProWine Mumbai 2026 represents another step in building commercial relationships, encouraging professional exchange and creating long-term opportunities for the industry.
