Mumbai : Equirus Securities, the Institutional Equities arm of the Equirus Group, today announced key leadership elevations within its Institutional Equities business, with Maulik Patel elevated as Head of Equities, alongside the appointments of Harshit Patel as Co-Head of Research and Viral Desai as Co-Head of Sales.
The leadership changes come as Equirus continues to strengthen its Institutional Equities franchise, which has grown significantly over the years through a combination of strong research, institutional sales and execution capabilities. The appointments are aimed at building greater leadership depth and positioning the business for its next phase of growth.
A member of the founding team of Equirus’ Institutional Equities business, Maulik has played an instrumental role in building and scaling the franchise since its early years. Over the past decade and a half, he has helped shape Equirus’ research platform, developed differentiated investment frameworks and built deep sector expertise across industries. His strong understanding of businesses, industries and capital markets, coupled with long-standing relationships across the corporate ecosystem, has contributed significantly to the growth and market standing of the Institutional Equities franchise.
In his new role, Maulik will provide overall leadership to the Equities business as Equirus continues to strengthen its market position, expand client relationships and pursue new growth opportunities.
Harshit Patel has been elevated as Co-Head of Research. Having spent over a decade with Equirus, he has played an important role in strengthening the firm’s research franchise, expanding sector coverage and deepening engagement with institutional investors and corporate management teams. His experience and understanding of the business position him well to help lead the next phase of growth of the research platform.
Viral Desai has been elevated as Co-Head of Sales. Over more than a decade with Equirus, he has been instrumental in strengthening the firm’s institutional client relationships and expanding its sales franchise. His deep understanding of investor requirements and strong engagement with institutional clients have contributed meaningfully to the growth and positioning of the business.
