GUWAHATI : A Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) along with a team of Noonmati Police Station arrested five drug traffickers with huge contraband drugs in Guwahati.Assam Police Headquarter CPRO said in a press statement.
IC traffic Jorabat OP intercepted the Truck No-AS01 MC-9517 in front of Jorabat OP. The truck was coming from 9 Mile Jorabat and headed to Mizoram Aizawl. On thorough questioning, the driver of the truck, Okram Nanao Singh s/o- of Lamphet, District West Imphal, Manipur revealed that the aforementioned truck was loaded with illegal IMFL hidden among some other goods.
Accordingly a complaint (FIR) was lodged at Jorabat OP, under Basistha PS. Search of the truck revealed the following IMFL being carried illegally : 1) 10 (ten) cartons containing 120 bottles of Blender’s Pride (750 ml each bottle). 2) 29 (twenty nine) cartons containing 348 bottles of Royal Stag (750ml each bottle). 3) 80 (eighty ) cartons containing 1920 King Fisher Beer Cans (500ml each Can). 4) 75 (seventy five) cartons containing 900 bottles of Mc. Dowells Luxury (750ml each bottle). 5) 15 (fifteen) cartons containing 360 bottles of Magic Moment (375 ml each bottle). Total number of IMFL cartons : 209 (Two hundred and nine).
