Chennai : Reinforcing its commitment to nurturing future-ready learners, the Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) has inaugurated Hindustan International School (HIS), Padappai, expanding its network of K–12 institutions in Tamil Nadu. The new campus has been established to provide students in the rapidly developing Padappai region with access to a contemporary learning environment that integrates academic excellence, technology, creativity, sports and values-based education.
The campus was inaugurated by His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma, Metropolitan, Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, who underscored the importance of education rooted in values, character and compassion in shaping responsible global citizens.
The ceremony was attended by Rt. Rev. Dr. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa, Chennai-Bangalore Diocese, Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, and Prof. (Dr.) J.A. Jayalal, President, Commonwealth Medical Association, UK (2025–27), as Guests of Honour. The dignitaries highlighted the role of educational institutions in nurturing ethical leadership, intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning.
The event was presided over by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions, in the presence of Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Verghese, Founder Chairperson, HGI, along with members of the Group’s leadership, academic heads, parents, students, alumni and invited guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese said: “The inauguration of Hindustan International School, Padappai, reflects our continued commitment to making quality education accessible to more families while preparing students for a world that is changing faster than ever before. Designed to promote holistic student development, the Padappai campus combines modern learning spaces with technology-enabled education. The campus features smart classrooms, robotics and computer laboratories, composite science laboratories, innovation and maker spaces, dedicated sports infrastructure and experiential learning environments that encourage collaboration, creativity and problem-solving. The academic ecosystem is designed to support both scholastic achievement and the overall physical, emotional and social development of students.
The inauguration also marked the release of Journey of Parables, the third book authored by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese. The book presents a collection of reflections and stories centred on leadership, purpose and values. His earlier works—Skyward Bound and Better to Best—chronicle his educational journey and insights into student development.
A commemorative coffee table book titled HISTORIA was also unveiled, documenting the decade-long journey of Hindustan International School and highlighting its milestones, achievements and contribution to school education.
Adding colour to the celebrations, students of Hindustan International School presented a series of cultural performances showcasing music, dance and artistic expression, reflecting the institution’s emphasis on nurturing well-rounded individuals.
