Huge sum of counterfeit Indian currency seized , one arrested in Assam’s Darrang district

 Mangaldai: Some notorious rackets of  counterfeit  Indian currency have been still active in Udalguri and  Darrang district of Assam . This can be evident from the recovery of a huge quantity of counterfeit Indian currency by a team of Darrang police . According to SP, Darrang , Sreejith Thiraviam,, acting on a secret input a team of police on Friday intercepted a red colour Maruti Alto vehicle bearing registration AS 13 E 6188 at Sibori under Dalgaon Police Station of the district  and on being searched they  recovered counterfeit indian currency notes amounting to Rs. 6,42,000.00 in the denomination of Rs. 2000.00. The accused driver of the vehicle Asmat Ali son of Kasem Ali ofvillage Jangalgaon under Orang Police Station in Udalguri district has been arrested and interrogation is being on .
