Bengaluru : New York head-quartered Humanscale, the global leader in workplace ergonomics, has earned its position as the most decorated global brand in the office furniture category across the iF and Red Dot Design Awards, widely regarded as among the most prestigious design awards worldwide with 28 awards to date. Humanscale focuses on ergonomic solutions-such as seating, sit-stand desks, and technology supports-and, as a result, maintains a more streamlined product portfolio compared to larger furniture companies. Guided by a distinctive design philosophy centered on simplicity, performance, and environmental responsibility, its 2026 wins across both award programs further strengthen a legacy spanning more than four decades.
Recently they were awarded iF Design Awards for Humanscale Lounge and eFloat Quattro, along with Red Dot Design Awards in Product Design for Diffrient Lounge and M/Class. These achievements, and the recognition over the years, reflect not only the work of Humanscale’s in-house design studio, but also its collaborations with some of the world’s most influential industrial designers. Together, these partnerships have produced a portfolio defined by simplicity, performance, and enduring relevance.
At the core of every Humanscale product is a commitment to purposeful design that prioritizes function, eliminates unnecessary complexity, and promotes human and environmental health. This philosophy results in simple and timeless designs that deliver superior usability while minimizing environmental impact.
“At Humanscale, design begins with a simple question: how can we make work healthier and easier for people?” said Alastair Stubbs, Country Director India, Humanscale. “We’re honored that this philosophy continues to resonate with the global design community-and as we advance, we remain committed to creating climate-positive designs that are better for both people and the planet.”
“While these awards mark a significant milestone, they ultimately reflect a broader mission: to create products that enhance the way people work while respecting the planet’s finite resources” added Stubbs.
“Since its founding in 1983, Humanscale has been a pioneer in ergonomic design, creating products that improve health, comfort, and productivity across evolving work environments, from dynamic office floorplates to residential spaces and the growing landscape of third places,” said Sathish Nandagopal, Founder and Director of Humanscale’s authorised India distribution partner, S Cube Ergonomics Pvt. Ltd. “Known for innovations such as the Freedom chair by Niels Diffrient, Humanscale has redefined standards for seating, sit/stand solutions, monitor arms, and task lighting, blending advanced functionality with a minimalist, timeless aesthetic. Each product is designed with the human body in mind, drawing on the laws of physics and natural movement rather than complex mechanisms”.
