The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red-colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim until tomorrow.
The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall conditions over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand till tomorrow. According to the weather agency, heavy rainfall is expected over Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Odisha and northeastern states today.
The Met Department also predicted thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds very likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during the next two days. Meanwhile, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab are expected to experience hot and humid weather today.
