Located on the top floor of an apartment building, the home offers beautiful views of greenery, bringing in natural light and calm while staying connected to everyday life. Talking about creating the space together, Keerthy shares, “Building a home together is a beautiful feeling. It’s comfort, first and foremost.” This feeling is reflected in special details across the house, including two vertically placed canvas paintings of the moon. One from the day they started dating and the other from their wedding day, 15 years later. While sharing her wedding memories, Keerthy naturally switches between Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil, showing her emotions and joy.
Colour also plays a big role in the home’s design. While the bright décor, furniture, photographs, and shades of green add life to the space, the black-and-white floor tiles, create balance and calmness.
The living room features a burnt-orange exposed brick decorated with wedding photographs. It adds warmth and tells their personal story. Adjacent to it is Keerthy’s “cute little kitchen” which has an artwork saying ‘Seasoned with love’, a line reflecting the spirit of the space.
The home also displays a framed artwork made with newspaper clippings from Keerthy’s film Mahanati, created around the time she won the National Award. It marks an important milestone in her acting journey. The couple’s bedroom is a blend of traditional and modern taste. The Kerala-style cot adds a cultural touch and the light grey textured wall by Asian Paints Nilaya Arc creates a soft and warm atmosphere. The guest bedroom features a soothing shade Moonlight by Asian Paints, which Keerthy likes as a calm base colour for décor.
One of Keerthy’s favourite space is the deck, which offers open views without nearby buildings. A bar counter decorated with photographs shows their journey together. The couple often start their mornings here with coffee and conversations. They also love hosting guests and want their home to feel lively and welcoming to everyone.
Drawing from her own experience of designing a home filled with memories and meaning, Keerthy adds, “If you’re a young couple like us and looking forward to building a home, make sure you do something very, very personal. Everything in the house should speak to you and about you both.”
Keerthy shares that being involved in every small detail is what makes a house truly feel like home. The apartment reflects this through its colourful and fun design, filled with artworks, quotes, a Marilyn Monroe mural and green views, creating a warm and personal space. She also encourages young couples to design homes that reflect their memories and stories.
