J&K govt evacuates about 1, 47,642 abandoned residents

The Jammu and Kashmir government has evacuated about 1,47,642  residents of the Union Territory, who were abandoned in other parts of the country due to Covid lockdown induced lockdown.

They were evacuated through special trains and buses amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures. As per the official data, 45,747 passengers arrived on 57 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and Union Territories so far. About 1,01,895 persons from other states and Union Territories including 328 from abroad have been evacuated by the government till date.
