Kokrajhar: A total of 6563 cases were taken up at the Lok Adalat in Kokrajhar district on Saturday, of which 2375 (including pre litigation and pending) cases were disposed.
People thronged the District Courts complex to to get their case resolved.
Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Boloram Kshetri said that matters like Bank Recovery Cases, Bakijai Cases, Criminal Compoundable Cases, Electricity Bill (excluding non-compoundable cases), Labour disputes cases, Land Acquisition cases, MACT cases, Matrimonial Cases, Civil Cases, Consumer Dispute Cases, Revenue Cases, Services matters relating to pay and allowances and retrial benefits and water bills (excluding non-compoundable cases) were taken up in the National Lok Adalat today.
He said the Lok Adalat was an endeavor to arrive at an out-of-court settlement with mutual consent of the parties in dispute and the public should make the best use of the alternative dispute redressal mechanism.
He said the next Lok Adalat would be held on 9 December and called upon the people to come forward to get their cases resolved.
