Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences Organized Blood Donation Camp on World Blood Donor Day, Promotes Voluntary Blood Donation Awareness

Greater Noida : Marking the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2026, the Blood Center of Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS) organized a successful Blood Donation Camp on campus, witnessing active participation from donors committed to supporting life-saving healthcare services and promoting awareness around voluntary blood donation.

The camp was organized under the patronage of Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Noida International University, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to community healthcare, preventive medicine, and social responsibility. A large number of volunteers and donors enthusiastically participated in the initiative, contributing towards strengthening the availability of safe blood for patients in need.

Organized under the supervision of Dr. Arun Chaudhary, Head of the Department of Pathology, and Dr. Sarwat Fatma, Blood Bank In-charge, the event was efficiently conducted with the dedicated support of the departmental team, including Dr. Ayush Saxena, Dr. Ajeet Yadav, and Chief Technician Mr. Ravi Kaushal. Mr. Vinod Nagar, Marketing Head, also played an active role in coordinating and supporting the successful execution of the event.

During the program, blood donors collectively took an oath to create awareness regarding the importance of safe and voluntary blood donation among their family members, relatives, and colleagues. Participants also pledged to donate blood selflessly, without discrimination or personal gain, whenever required for saving lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Noida International University, said, “Blood donation is one of the noblest contributions an individual can make toward humanity. A single blood donation has the potential to save multiple lives during medical emergencies, surgeries, trauma care, and critical illnesses. At Noida International University and NIIMS, we strongly believe in promoting healthcare awareness and encouraging young individuals to become responsible contributors to society through voluntary blood donation.”

Highlighting the medical importance of maintaining adequate blood reserves, Dr. Arun Chaudhary, HOD, Department of Pathology, stated, “Blood cannot be manufactured artificially, and its availability remains critical for emergency care, maternal health, cancer treatment, and major surgeries. Awareness-driven initiatives like these are essential to building a culture of regular, voluntary blood donation and ensuring timely access to safe blood for patients.”

Dr. Sarwat Fatma, Blood Bank In-charge, noted that maintaining a healthy and sufficient blood inventory is essential for ensuring uninterrupted patient care and emergency medical preparedness.

The event concluded on a socially impactful note, with participants expressing enthusiasm to continue contributing toward blood donation awareness campaigns in the future. Through such initiatives, NIIMS continues to strengthen public health engagement and encourage community participation in life-saving healthcare practices, reinforcing the message of “Donate Blood, Save Lives.”
