New Delhi — Delhi NCR-based fitness and sports technology company OBSESS has raised angel funding to build a unified digital ecosystem for India’s fitness and sports industry. As fitness becomes an increasingly important part of everyday life, consumers are looking beyond gym memberships to include sports, personal training, nutrition, recovery and wellness in their routines. Yet these services often operate independently, leaving consumers to navigate multiple platforms and businesses to rely on disconnected systems. The round saw participation from Angel Investors including Pushpendra Singh, Co-founder of Centricity; Amitt Goel, Angel Investor; and Harshit Vij, Co-founder of Freecultr.
Founded in 2026 by Tushar Sharma and Yash Kumar, OBSESS is addressing this gap by bringing different parts of the fitness journey together through a single connected platform.
For consumers, discovering a gym, booking a sports venue, finding a personal trainer or accessing nutrition and wellness services can involve multiple apps and channels. At the same time, many gyms, coaches and sports venue operators lack access to digital tools that can help them manage operations, connect with customers and grow their businesses.
OBSESS is developing an integrated platform designed to make these experiences simpler. Its offering spans gym discovery and memberships, personal training, sports venue discovery and booking, fitness products, nutrition and wellness services, and community-driven fitness experiences.
Tushar Sharma, Founder & CEO of OBSESS, said, “We don’t want to build just another fitness application. We are building a platform that brings the different parts of the fitness journey together, so people can access the services they need without moving between disconnected platforms. We believe fitness should be easier to discover, access and experience, while businesses across the ecosystem should have the technology to reach more people and grow. This funding gives us an important step forward as we work towards making that vision a reality”.
Rather than focusing on a single fitness use case, the company is approaching the sector as an interconnected ecosystem. Through its technology platform, OBSESS aims to help consumers discover and access services across their fitness journey while giving gyms, trainers, sports venue operators and other businesses digital tools to manage operations and reach new customers.
Yash Kumar, Co-founder of OBSESS, said, “The opportunity in fitness goes beyond helping people find a gym or book a sports facility. It is about creating a connected experience that supports people throughout their fitness journey. We want OBSESS to bring consumers, service providers and fitness businesses closer together through one platform. Our focus is on building something that becomes useful in everyday life and can scale with the evolving needs of the fitness community”.
The company has chosen not to disclose the financial details of the angel round. The capital will be used to strengthen technology and product development, expand its network of gyms, trainers and sports venues, improve user acquisition, strengthen operations and build partnerships across the fitness and wellness industry.
OBSESS is also working towards incorporating AI-driven capabilities into the fitness experience, with the aim of making workout planning, nutrition recommendations and personalisation more accessible. Its longer-term roadmap includes expanding into new cities and connecting more consumers, service providers and businesses through a common digital platform.
India’s fitness and wellness sector is evolving beyond traditional gym memberships, with growing interest in sports, nutrition, recovery and community-based activities. However, discoverability, accessibility and fragmented services remain challenges for both consumers and businesses. OBSESS sees an opportunity to build the technology and distribution layer that can help connect these parts of the market.
The company’s long-term ambition is to create a connected fitness ecosystem in which consumers can access services across their fitness journey and businesses can use digital tools to operate, grow and collaborate more effectively.
