Olfa Originals Unveils The Room: An Immersive Exploration Of Scent, Taste And Memory

New Delhi: Olfa Originals unveiled The Room, its new invite-only experiential IP, with an intimate evening at the house’s Delhi space on 9 September 2026.

Conceived as an exploration of fragrance beyond the traditional act of wearing perfume, The Room brought together scent, cocktails, taste, sound and storytelling through a four-part guided sensory journey.

Guests were invited to experience four distinct interpretations of the Olfa Originals universe, with each chapter built around a particular olfactory mood and accompanied by a specially conceived cocktail, sensory cues and carefully considered culinary pairings.

The evening opened with The Jasmine Room, where guests entered the experience blindfolded, allowing fragrance, sound and taste to take precedence over sight. Inspired by the house’s Himalayan Bouquet, the opening chapter unfolded through jasmine, botanical notes and an atmospheric soundscape, establishing the central premise of the evening: to experience fragrance instinctively rather than intellectually.

This was followed by The Oud Room, which explored one of perfumery’s most storied materials. Cinnamon bark, oud wood, bakhoor and the story of oud cultivation created a tactile and aromatic environment that allowed guests to encounter the ingredient beyond the finished perfume.

A palate-cleansing interlude created a deliberate transition before guests moved into The Spice Room, an exploration of warmth, tension and sensuality through spice, texture and aroma.

The journey concluded in The Espresso Room, a deeper and more nocturnal interpretation of scent, paired with Evening in Jaipur. Designed as the final awakening of the senses, the fourth room brought the experience to a close through notes of coffee, warmth and the lingering intimacy of fragrance.

Rather than presenting perfume as a product in isolation, The Room was conceived as a living expression of the Olfa Originals philosophy: fragrance as memory, culture, emotion and atmosphere.

“Perfume has never existed in isolation. A smell can remind you of a place, a person, an evening, a meal, even a moment you had forgotten. With The Room, we wanted to create an environment in which people could experience fragrance through all of those associations rather than simply smelling something from a bottle,” says Pallavi Bhatia, Founder, Olfa Originals.

The intimate format allowed the house to create a highly personal exchange with its guests, moving away from the conventions of a traditional fragrance launch and towards a more layered form of experiential storytelling.

Through The Room, Olfa Originals continues to expand its approach to contemporary Indian perfumery, creating experiences that draw upon the country’s ingredients, rituals, histories and sensory culture while presenting them through a distinctly modern lens.

The inaugural edition marks the beginning of The Room as an ongoing Olfa Originals IP, with future editions envisioned as evolving interpretations of fragrance, culture, gastronomy and the invisible memories that connect them.
