As part of its continued commitment to promoting sports and creating quality sporting infrastructure, the Southern Railway Sports Association (SRSA), Thiruvananthapuram Division has completed the construction of a modern swimming pool complex at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram. The facility, developed to support aquatic sports and encourage swimming among Railway employees and the public, marks another significant milestone in the sports development initiatives of SRSA.
To ensure professional operation, maintenance and utilisation of this world-class facility, SRSA has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible swimming academies, sports institutions, coaching centres and experienced agencies for operating and maintaining the swimming pool and conducting swimming coaching programmes for the general public during the time slots available after Railway usage.
The swimming pool complex features a 25-metre main pool with seven swimming lanes and a dedicated kids’ pool, offering excellent infrastructure for swimming coaching, training and recreational activities. The facility can be operated from 05.00 hrs. to 22.00 hrs., providing ample opportunities for public participation and coaching activities.
The selected agency will be entrusted with comprehensive maintenance of the swimming pool, filtration plant, water quality management, cleanliness of associated facilities, deployment of qualified coaches and lifeguards, and adherence to all prescribed safety standards. The operator will also be permitted to conduct coaching camps and swimming classes for the public and collect fees as per the approved conditions. Preference will be given to agencies with proven experience in operating swimming pools, sports facilities or similar establishments.
The contract period will be one year. Interested agencies may obtain the quotation schedule and application forms from the Office of the OSD/Sports, Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Southern Railway, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, during working hours. The sealed quotations should reach the office on or before 17.00 hrs. on 04.06.2026.
