Chennai : Super Chennai hosted an inspiring edition of Super Chennai Arattai featuring acclaimed orator, author, corporate leader and television personality Bharathy Bhaskar, who was also honoured as Super Chennai’s Icon of the Month. The engaging conversation explored the power of communication, the importance of listening, women’s empowerment, humour and the role Chennai has played in shaping one of Tamil Nadu’s most celebrated public speakers.
Reflecting on her journey, Bharathy shared that her confidence on stage was built through persistence and the unwavering encouragement of her teachers, who recognised her talent long before she did. What began as an unsuccessful school performance eventually evolved into a lifelong passion for public speaking, with years of experience teaching her the importance of understanding audiences rather than simply addressing them.
Speaking about the changing nature of communication, Bharathy observed that while words have the power to influence society, listening remains an equally important skill. She noted that meaningful conversations require empathy, attentiveness and the ability to understand different perspectives—qualities she believes are increasingly relevant in today’s fast-paced world.
