Manipal: T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), a constituent of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, has been ranked #6 in the Asia-Pacific region in the Bloomberg Businessweek Best B-Schools 2026-27 rankings, moving up from #9 in 2025-26. The improvement comes in only the second year that TAPMI has been included in the survey, having entered the Asia-Pacific list for the first time in 2025.
TAPMI’s overall score rose from 61.8 in 2025-26 to 63.4 in 2026-27, with gains across key indices assessed by Bloomberg Businessweek.
For the Networking Index, TAPMI scored 81.8 in 2026-27, up from 77.0 in 2025-26. The score highlights interactions among students and alumni, employer recognition, and the reach of the TAPMI network. On the Learning Index, the score increased from 80.8 in 2025-26 to 84.1 in 2026-27, emphasizing the quality of pedagogy and its link to real-world business situations. TAPMI’s Entrepreneurship Index score rose from 67.8 in 2025-26 to 74.8 in 2026-27, demonstrating the importance given to entrepreneurship as a career path and the preparation provided for building new ventures.
Dr Debasis Pradhan, TAPMI’s Director, said, “The movement this year has come across every parameter Bloomberg measures, which suggests the gains are structural rather than incidental. What matters most to us is that this ranking is built almost entirely from what our students, our alumni and the recruiters who hire from us say about the programme. That is the most honest assessment a business school can receive.”
The Bloomberg Businessweek rankings draw on feedback from graduating students, recent alumni and corporate recruiters, and assess business schools on four indices: Compensation, Learning, Networking and Entrepreneurship. Unlike rankings built largely on data submitted by institutions, the Businessweek methodology is survey-led, weighting the experience of those who have completed the programme and the perceptions of employers who recruit from it.
TAPMI, part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, holds both AACSB and AMBA accreditation.
