Techno Digital Commissions Mumbai Edge Data Center

Mumbai  – Techno Digital, the digital infrastructure arm of Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited (TEECL), today announced the commissioning of its Mumbai Edge Data Center (EDC) located in Mahalakshmi, South Mumbai.

Developed in partnership with RailTel Corporation of India (Navratna CPSE), the Mumbai EDC is fully operational and built to Rated-3 infrastructure standards. This facility is designed to deliver enterprise-grade reliability through a cost-efficient, right-sized infrastructure footprint.

The Mumbai Edge Data Center addresses a long-standing challenge faced by companies operating in Mumbai’s major financial districts by enabling infrastructure deployment within close proximity, delivering less than 150 microseconds latency from BSE (Nariman Point/Fort) and less than 250 microseconds latency from NSE (BKC), thereby improving responsiveness for real-time applications.

With proximity to key business districts such as BKC, Nariman Point, Worli, Lower Parel, Mahalaxmi and Fort, enterprises can easily deploy infrastructure closer to their operations, enhancing execution speed and overall system performance.

Key design features include:

•            Ultra-low latency connectivity across Mumbai’s key business districts

•            Access to RailTel’s 63,000+ km nationwide fiber network, thereby ensuring connectivity across country

•            Built to support sovereign and compliance-driven workloads

The close proximity of the facility to Mumbai’s cable landing stations further enhances its ability to enable high-speed global connectivity, while maintaining low-latency performance within the country.

The Mumbai facility marks another milestone in Techno Digital’s edge infrastructure rollout under its strategic partnership with RailTel to build a distributed network of edge data centers across 100+ cities in India. Following Mumbai, the company plans to launch five additional edge locations in quick succession, with a long-term roadmap to scale to 102 locations over the next three to four years.

Speaking on this, Ankit Saraiya, Director & CEO, Techno Digital, said, “As India’s digital economy scales, infrastructure requirements are evolving beyond capacity to include proximity and performance. The Mumbai Edge Data Center is designed to align infrastructure with demand centers, particularly in high-performance environments such as financial services and real-time platforms. At Techno Digital our mission is to build a leading distributed network of interconnected edge infrastructure that matches the concentration of economic and digital activity. The Mumbai facility represents a key milestone in that journey.”

Amit Agrawal, President, Techno Digital, said, “In a city like Mumbai, where milliseconds can impact outcomes, infrastructure placement becomes critical. This facility combines low-latency architecture, strong connectivity, and sovereign infrastructure to support performance-critical workloads ranging from trading and fintech platforms to real-time AI inferencing and enterprise applications. It is designed to deliver the reliability and responsiveness required in latency-sensitive environments.”

Techno Digital leverages the engineering and execution expertise of its parent company TEECL, a publicly listed company with over four decades of experience in power infrastructure. This foundation enables the company to build reliable, scalable, and power-efficient digital infrastructure across India.

As enterprises increasingly adopt AI, real-time platforms, and digital services, infrastructure location is becoming a critical determinant of performance.
