Mumbai -Thane – : As families increasingly recognise the importance of keeping senior citizens healthy, active and emotionally connected, Terna Speciality Hospital & Research Centre, Nerul, has launched its 60+ Senior Citizen Health Card for senior citizens across the Navi Mumbai and Panvel region.
The initiative aims to make preventive healthcare more accessible to people aged 60 years and above while encouraging regular health assessments rather than waiting for symptoms or medical emergencies. The launch comes ahead of World Heart Day, reinforcing the message that heart health and preventive care should remain a priority at every age.
)The health card offers a one-time free health check-up for one person, covering key basic assessments such as blood pressure, random blood sugar, ECG, CBC, BMI, eye check-up, dental screening and physician consultation. Cardholders can also avail themselves of selected healthcare services at discounted rates, including consultations, diagnostic investigations and other hospital services, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
As part of the launch initiative, Terna Hospital also organised a special evening of devotion, music and togetherness for senior citizens, featuring Siddhi – The Divine Band and more than 20 artists. The programme witnessed an enthusiastic participation of more than 600 senior citizens, both men and women, from the Navi Mumbai and Panvel region. The gathering provided an opportunity for senior citizens to enjoy music, interact with one another and celebrate togetherness beyond the hospital environment. The participating senior citizens were also provided the 60+ Senior Citizen Health Card as part of the initiative.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Subhodh Shinkar, COO, Terna Public Charitable Trust, said, “Senior citizens are not only an important part of our families but also the guiding force for the generations that follow. Their experience, values and wisdom shape the decisions of children and grandchildren. Therefore, caring for their health is also an investment in the emotional and social well-being of the entire family. Through the 60+ Senior Citizen Health Card, our objective is to encourage preventive healthcare and make timely medical attention more accessible to senior citizens in Navi Mumbai and Panvel.”
Dr. Aparna Methil, Director – Medical Services, Terna Speciality Hospital & Research Centre, said, “Ageing should not mean compromising on quality of life. Regular health checks can help identify risk factors early and enable timely medical guidance. Heart health, in particular, deserves attention as cardiovascular risks can increase with age. Our message around World Heart Day is simple—prevention, awareness and timely evaluation can play an important role in helping senior citizens remain healthier and more independent.”
Terna Hospital said the initiative reflects its broader approach to healthcare—extending care beyond treatment and encouraging prevention, dignity, independence, emotional well-being and healthier ageing among senior citizens.
