New Delhi : With consumers asking for more luxurious, durable, and high-tech home products, bathrooms are now evolving into wellness-focused rooms. The increasing consumer aspirations, the growth of luxury housing, and a rise in consumer concern about hygiene and sustainability are driving the demand for such products, which is directing the manufacturers to design products that last long, save water, and offer better user experience.
In view of these consumer demands, TOTO, a Japanese sanitaryware brand, has made a couple major announcements globally. It has completed 80 years of producing faucets in its factories, and at the same time, it has taken the joint third place in the 2024 World Sanitaryware Production Rankings by Ceramic World Review.
TOTO has spent eight decades building its reputation as a leader in tap manufacturing through constant engineering innovation. A good example of this is the tap technology which is meant to keep a consistently smooth operating experience even after years of regular use. The technology combines a ceramic disc with high wear resistance to a proprietary carbon film coating that reduces friction to a minimum, ensuring that the lever continues to move smoothly over time. This innovation, first introduced in 1994 on the company’s third-generation single-lever faucets, is further evidence of TOTO’s long-term commitment to user comfort and product durability.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Shiozawa Kazuyuki, Managing Director, TOTO India Pvt. Ltd., said: “The modern day bathroom has become an integral part of daily wellness and today’s consumers expect products that offer long-term sustainability, reliability and comfort. We are celebrating 80 years of tap manufacturing and global recognition for our manufacturing capabilities, highlighting our commitment to engineering excellence and continuous innovation. “We are committed to bringing premium bathroom solutions and globally proven technologies to the Indian market.”
Other than having a record of innovative engineering, TOTO’s inclusion in the top sanitaryware companies of the world shows the capability of the organization in terms of global manufacturing operations. Making about 10 million units of sanitaryware each year, TOTO focuses on quality, innovation, and the development of sustainable products while catering to its residential, commercial, and hospitality projects in different markets around the world.
This particular achievement comes at a point in time when there is a need for bathroom solutions in the premium residential and hospitality segments of India, which offer both aesthetics and functionality along with hygiene and sustainability.
