In Uttar Pradesh, two people have been arrested and four detained in connection with yesterday’s violence in Syana area of Bulandshahar district. One police inspector and a villager had died in the incident.
FIRs have also been lodged at the Syana police station against 27 other people and 50 to 60 unknown people under various sections of Indian Penal Code. The situation is now under control in Syana, with heavy police deployed in the area.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the situation last night. He announced an ex-gratia of 50 lakh rupees for the family of the Inspector. The Chief Minister has directed the Additional Director General of Intelligence to file a report within 48 hours.
He said, after getting the report, stern action will be taken against those responsible for the incident. The Special Investigation Team, under the supervision of IG Range Meerut, has already been formed to probe the violence.
