Hyderabad Saree Festival 2025 – A Spectacular Celebration of India’s Handloom Heritage

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Saree Festival 2025 (2nd Edition) was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and grandeur at Kamma Sangam, Ameerpet, marking the beginning of a week-long celebration of India’s handloom excellence.

The inister of Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Telangana, Tummala Nageswara Rao, the Chief Guest, inaugurating the festival commended the efforts of the National Design Centre (NDC) for creating a platform that honours the craftsmanship of India’s weavers. In his address, he highlighted the State Government’s steadfast commitment to promoting and preserving India’s handloom legacy while encouraging artisans to embrace innovation and sustainability in their craft.

The festival brings together 62 handloom weavers and 13 handicraft artisans from various states of India, presenting an exquisite range of sarees and textiles that reflect the country’s rich weaving heritage. Visitors are experiencing diverse collections including Banarasi Sarees from Uttar Pradesh, Kalamkari and Cotton Butta Sarees from Andhra Pradesh, Patola Sarees from Gujarat, Chanderi Sarees from Madhya Pradesh, Paithani Sarees from Maharashtra, and Pochampally Ikat Sarees from Telangana, among others.

Beyond its stunning displays, the Hyderabad Saree Festival serves as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange — connecting visitors directly with weavers, promoting sustainable fashion, and fostering appreciation for India’s textile traditions.

The festival is open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with free entry for all. Visitors are encouraged to explore, interact with artisans, and experience the timeless beauty and artistry of handloom textiles firsthand.
