Gandhinagar : Mumbai’s renowned Lilavati Hospital, with a 48‑year legacy of clinical excellence, has formally launched its presence in Gujarat with a pre‑opening puja ceremony at its new 300‑bed multi‑specialty hospital in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. The event brought together dignitaries, healthcare leaders, and community representatives and signals a major expansion of advanced tertiary care capacity in the Gandhinagar–Ahmedabad corridor.
The new facility is designed to serve residents and the growing working population in India’s first operational smart financial hub, GIFT City. The hospital will offer a broad range of specialties and tertiary care services aimed at improving access to high‑quality, trusted healthcare close to home.
As part of its pre‑opening activities, Lilavati Hospital organised a free medical check‑up camp for underprivileged residents from neighbouring communities. The camp provided basic health screenings and doctor consultations focused on early detection and preventive care, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to community health even before clinical operations begin.
Mr. Prashant Mehta, Permanent Trustee, Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre and Director, Lilavati Foundation, said: “We have always believed that quality healthcare must be accessible from day one. Beginning our Gujarat journey with a free medical camp reflects our commitment to community care even before operations commence. With our GIFT City facility, we aim to bring trusted, high‑quality healthcare closer to the region.”
The pre‑opening ceremony and outreach activities underscore Lilavati Hospital’s guiding philosophy: Life Wins When Care Begins. Backed by over four decades of experience, the hospital’s expansion into Gujarat is expected to strengthen tertiary healthcare access across the state, particularly within the fast‑growing GIFT City corridor.
