Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today highlighted that the relations between India and Germany have gradually become stronger with time. Addressing the Indian Diaspora in Berlin, Germany, the Minister noted that India and Germany not only share political and strategic relations but also share art and culture with great enthusiasm. He added that this year, the formal diplomatic relations between the two nations, based on democratic values, have completed 75 years. He noted that Germany is the largest trading partner of India in Europe, with more than 2 thousand German companies active in India. He asserted that the relations between the two countries are determined by people-to-people exchanges and highlighted the contributions of 3.7 lakhs of the Indian diaspora living in the country.
The Defence Minister further underlined that India’s economy is moving ahead at a growth rate of about 7 percent today and the country is working at an unprecedented scale in education, skill, research and innovation. He mentioned that India has become the third-largest startup and Artificial Intelligence ecosystem in the world. The Minister highlighted that the country has signed free trade agreements with about 38 countries, allowing Indian manufacturers and producers to sell their products in global markets.
Earlier, the Minister also visited Humboldt University and paid floral tributes to the statue of Rabindranath Tagore.
