PVR INOX, India’s largest and most premium cinema exhibitor announces a highly curated film festival to celebrate the legacy of one of Hindi cinema’s most prolific and loved filmmakers, David Dhawan. David Dhawan redefined the grammar of mainstream Hindi films, infusing it with rhythm, and an unapologetic sense of fun. Across decades, his cinema captured the pulse of the masses, turning everyday chaos into joyous spectacle. He created a genre of comedy that was uniquely his own, fun, colourful, and entertaining. The film festival has been curated to honour his legacy, not just a director but a storyteller who reminded us that cinema, at its heart, can be pure, unbridled joy. As his last film as a director, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai gears up for a release this is just the right time to dial back and watch some of his best works once again on the big screen, a celebration of his enduring cinema and of a filmmaker widely regarded as the architect of blockbusters.

The David Dhawan Film Festival by PVR INOX brings together a line-up of his most iconic entertainers, each reflecting his signature style. Raja Babu captures Govinda and Karisma Kapoor at their comic best in a riot of innocence and mischief; Partner delivers a crowd-pleasing mix of bromance and fun with Salman Khan and Govinda; Aankhen stands out as a classic double-role comedy packed with chaos and charm; Main Tera Hero reinvents the masala rom-com for a new generation with Varun Dhawan’s high-energy performance; and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya blends romance and farce in a delightfully tangled love story led by Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen & Katrina Kaif

A special event will be hosted at PVR INOX for media and the film fraternity to honour David Dhawan, where the celebrated director will be in conversation with Varun Dhawan discussing films, life and everything in between.
